PM Code

Page history last edited by PBworks 18 years ago

PM Code stands for Paper Memory code. It is a 3-d barcode technology that can hold data upto ~1GB...1GB!!! Which means you can embed video, sound and other data files on it.

PM code is being developed by a Japanese start-up company known as Content Idea of Asia Co.

They have three variants- one that holds a few KBs, another about 1.2mb and third that holds 1,236 GB!!

They have also developed CL Code which stands for Clear Code. With CL one does not have to create codes on constrasting backgrounds (white on black). Cl codes can be placed on any background.

With PM codes they claim 5th generation media is possible where digital content seamlessly flows in and out of the real world objects.

DENSO WAVE CORPORATION also came up with a variety of 2d codes called ColorCode and ColorZip. This allows for highly customizable patterns and pictures to contain information like semacodes.
