Manhattan Story Mashup is an urban game that took place on September 23, 2006. That kind of qualifies it more as a game than a mobile app, however it DID use the camera as an integral part of the game and for that I find it uniquely interesting.

The way the game worked was similar to that of a scavenger hunt. Teams were created at the start.

Images were loaded onto random phones and then you were given a list of choices to guess which word matched the image the best. The fastest answer got the points.

Another aspect of the game was the word that appeared on your screen. You had to quickly take a photograph to represent the meaning of the word. The first one was submitted. These images were then sent out to others to guess from the list which word it could be. Points were given for this, as well.

The game was about two hours long, but those two hours went so fast. It was a great use of the camera phone- maybe one of the best I have ever seen.
