What is Mologogo?

http://www.mologogo.com/

Mologogo is a free real-time tracking system, location based search and alerts, mobile maps, social networking and location-aware chat all tied into one system.

How does it work?

Mologogo works on Nextel and PocketPC phones with Java and a data plan. It uses the built in GPS receivers on these phones. You can also use this with an external GPS attached to your phone. They also have a starter kit for cheap http://mologogo.com/site/phonesales

Is my location public?

No, according to them you can choose to show your location to specific people only.

What else can you do with this?

I found a page on their wiki where users can put up ideas on how one could use this service.

They say they are going to release an API. So you might be able to ideally create all mapping mashups right on the phone and use them while you walk through the city.
