M.L.S.O.S(Mobile Lunch Special Ordering System)

Purpose and Concept:

Purpose: To order lunch by using picture and text messaging via Mobile Phone

Concept: Use of a ubiquitous device to send Text & Picture messaging for convenient lunch ordering.

How it works:

1. Text message send with "menu" in subject

2. yjp363@gmail.com - popper.pl - logic.php

3. Crontab auto executes popper.pl every minute

4. Logic.php returns (1)menu item with picture & description

(Returns 3 menu items for multiple choices)

5. Text message "RE:order" in subject and send

6. Returns text message "your order succeeded, thank you"

Problems:

1. Missing "Mail.php"-I could not find this include file anywhere

2. Sending multiple messages in response to "menu"

3. Reply to address for pix messaging via itp server

Conclusion and Result:

1. MLSOS will send out one special lunch menu item per "menu" request

2. MLSOS ordering execution works by messaging to the original 'to' address

3. MLSOS sends confirmation message

When text or pix messages are received with "RE:order" as subject

4. MLSOS is simple to use and it uses a ubiquitous tool(our cell phones)

5. Send a message with subject as "menu" to yjp363@gmail.com

Further Study:

1. Would like to incorporate MLSOS to GeoCode and nearby restaurants to deliver menu items to the cell phone.

2. Would like to incorporate Restaurant review(Maybe Zagat) with MLSOS.

3. Would like to incorporate a database for customer information so that returning customer's information can be automatically accessed when order is received. (use of phone number)
